Scones are one of the best creations around. They are sweet, soft and can be the perfect way to treat yourself on a summer afternoon! If you’d like to make your own batch to enjoy at home, Great Harvest in Bozeman has a simple and delicious recipe to bake around 10 scones.

How to Bake Scones

- Get the Supplies
- Handful of blueberries, cranberries or raisins
- 480 grams of flour
- 113 grams of butter
- 100 grams of sugar
- 30 grams of baking powder
- 4 grams of salt
- 1 egg
- 1 cup of milk

Start Prepping

You can start by preparing some things, so you can have them ready and out of your way. First, preheat the oven at 400 F. Then, lightly spread oil on a baking sheet. Lastly, put flour on the surface where you’ll be managing the dough.

Blend It All

Time to start working with your ingredients! Place all the dry components in a big bowl (flour, sugar, baking powder and salt), and start mixing. Use a separate bowl to blend the others (butter, egg and milk). Then, mix them both to make the dough and add the extra ingredients!

Bake Your Scones!

Once the dough is finally done, create the scone shapes with it. Roll it around the floured surface and make ½ inch balls. Then, put these on the baking sheet and in the oven. Leave them there for around 15 minutes or until you see they’ve turner a golden color.

Munch Away!

That’s it! Now you have to take the scones out of the oven, let them cool, and enjoy them with friends, family, or just by yourself! You can even spread some fruit jam on them to make them extra yummy.
